"Buff? Buffy, wake up."

Buffy mumbled something, then turned her back on Willow. "Two minutes, Mom."

Willow sighed. "Buff, wake up. It's almost 8."

Almost immediately, Buffy stood on her feet.

Willow grinned. "Don't wanna be late, huh?"

"No. Don't wanna miss Riley." Buffy grinned back on her friend. She was lucky that Kathy had been a demon. After all, Willow was a better roommate than anybody else could be. Though they had their problems.

"It's always the same with you, Buff. What was that with Parker? He used you, didn't he?"

"Yeah, okay, you were right. But he got what he deserved." Buffy grinned and acted like she swung a club. "What was that? Beer foamy?" She grinned.

"That's not very funny, Buff. You could really have injured somebody."

Buffy shrugged her shoulders. "Luckily it was just Parker." Then she took her bag and grinned. "Ready?"

Willow smiled and followed her roommate.

*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

"Giles? Are you there? Hello?" The door to Giles' apartment was open so Buffy stepped in. "Hello?"

Giles head appeared behind the bar. "Buffy, is that you?"

"Aha. What're you doin'?"

"I'm trying to find my scrubber. I know it has to be here… somewhere."

"Can I help you?"

"Uh… why not."

Buffy walked around the corner to see Giles sitting on the floor in front of a tiny closet. She had to bite her tongue not to loose any comment on his clothes. They were awful. A dark T-shirt, dark trousers. Come to think of it, not too bad. Not for Giles. Buffy even had to say he looked quite… well, not sexy… but quite attractive.

"Buffy. Is something wrong?"

She'd been so lost in thoughts she didn't notice she was staring at him. "Um, no. And you really believe it's in there?" She wasn't very optimistic.

"It has to. I couldn't imagine any other place." He sighed.

Buffy sank on her knees beside him and started to look through the closet. Seconds later she held the scrubber to him. "Giles, you're a genius."

"Thanks for that." He took the scrubber and stood up. "So, what makes you come out here?"

"You said you'd call the Council. Did you?"

Giles looked at her, then took his glasses off and started cleaning it. "Buffy, I'm afraid I have bad news. Well, not really, we knew it already, but now it's official. I'm no longer your watcher." He grew silent.

Buffy looked at him. He was right. She'd known it, though she was shocked. "Um, I don't know… well…"

"They said I could remain here… if you still wanted me as your watcher."

Buffy smiled. "Sure! You're not only my watcher, Giles. Not any more. I see you as a friend."

Giles gave the smile back. "Thank you."

"And after all, I need someone to watch over me."

"You do?"

Buffy nodded. "Who else should do all the theory?" She grinned.

Giles raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, right."

Buffy smiled. Then she did something nobody that didn't happen very often. She hugged Giles. And not too soft.

Giles was surprised. "Buffy… what're you doin'?"

"Something I should've done a long time ago." She released him from her grip and smiled at him. She laid her hand on his neck and pulled him down to her. Then she kissed him.

Something in Giles exploded. He never imagined Buffy'd…

'Oh, fuck what she'd do! She's doin' it!'

Then he took her in his arms.
