COMMENTS: This was a challenge to get Giles out of his customary tweed due to the heat wave tormenting the country. For this story, Giles now works at the Sunnydale Museum.
FEEDBACK: Make me happy please, don't hurt my feelings.

Giles sat in his office going over paperwork that had arrived with an ancient Roman sword. He heard a slight noise and looked up to find Buffy standing in the doorway. He swallowed with difficulty at the sight of her skimpy outfit; halter top, short shorts and sandals. He forced a smile, "What are you doing here?" He watched her lean against the door frame and cross her arms beneath her breasts, an action that made her cleavage more pronounced. He swallowed again.

Buffy smiled, "How can you stand that suit?" She asked. "We're in the middle of a heat wave." She pointed out un-nessarily.

Giles looked down at his customary tweed, it was *quite* hot, but ... "I can't very well come to work at the Museum in blue jeans and a T-shirt."

Buffy rolled her eyes. "Do you own any?" She asked with a grin. "C'mon, we're goin' for ice cream."

Giles was tempted, ice cream sounded marvelous right now and Buffy, well she always sounded marvelous. "Who are *we*?"

"Everybody. This is Cordie's last day, she leaves for LA tomorrow. Remember? We asked you to take the day off and come with us." Buffy reminded him.

"Oh. Yes, I do remember." Giles responded. "I wish I could have ... How is Cordelia?"

"Not so bad." Buffy told him. "I think she's scared. She's never been on her own." Buffy moved away from the door and sat on his desk. She was facing him as she sat just to his left, her feet brushed his knee as she swung them. "I wrote Angel, asked him to watch over her." She looked sheepish. "Don't tell her, okay?"

"Wouldn't dream of it." Giles assured her. He looked at his paperwork in an attempt to keep his eyes from her bare legs, her bare mid-drift, her ... "You know where Angel is then?" He asked sounding much calmer than he felt.

"Nope, not really. Just that he's in LA." Buffy told him. "He wrote to let me know that he was okay. Gave me a PO Box number in case we needed him. So, you comin'?" She asked as she hopped off the desk. She took his arm, pulled him up and dragged him out the door.

Giles stopped her just outside the door. "Buffy, I have work to do." Giles protested lightly.

Buffy looked at him, her eyes serious. "Don't you want to say good-bye?"

Giles sighed. He went back into his office, stuffed some papers into his briefcase and returned to Buffy with said briefcase. He locked his office door and turned to her. "Let's go."

Buffy smiled up at him happily and took his arm as they walked out.

When they got to his car, Giles opened the door and put his briefcase in back. As soon as he stood back up, Buffy unbuttoned his suit jacket and pushed it off his shoulders. "Wwhat are you doing?" He asked.

Buffy threw the jacket in the back with the case and started to undo his tie. "What do you think? It's too hot for all this." The tie joined the jacket. She undid the top two buttons of his shirt. She put her hands on her hips and looked up at him. "People are dying from this heat Giles. I don't want you to be one of them. We have time to stop, if you want to change."

Giles took in her serious expression, she was truly concerned. He rolled up his shirt sleeves. "I'll be fine." He assured her. "Where are we to meet the others?"

Buffy smiled again. "Ben and Jerry's, where else?"

When they got to the ice cream parlor, he realized that when Buffy had said everybody, she meant everybody. Willow, Oz, Xander, Anya, Cordelia and Wesley were already there. "Did you rent the place?" He asked humorously as they made their way inside.

The table they sat at was to small for eight, but they didn't care. They laughed and teased and talked of times gone by. Ice cream cones and sundaes.

Xander made a dumb joke and Anya poked his side. He jumped and bumped into Buffy, who bumped into Giles, who spilled the bite of hot fudge sundae he was about to eat. It landed on his shirt and pants.

     "Xander." Buffy reprimanded him.

     "Sorry." Xander said.

"It's all right. Just an accident." Giles commented mildly. He cleaned it up as best he could with napkins. He nearly had a stroke when Buffy helped. She patted his chest and thigh with a wet napkin. Fortunately, before she could notice his reaction (he hoped) to her touch, Oz made a drum sound on the table.

"We have a going away present for you." Willow told Cordelia.

Cordelia looked surprised. "I thought that's what today was."

Willow smiled and handed her a card.

Cordelia opened the envelope and took out the card. The front said "We'll miss you." She opened it and inside was a gift certificate for Nieman Marcus. She looked at it shocked, her eyes widened when she saw the amount. "How...?" She looked at them. By the amount, she knew that Giles and Wesley must have contributed the majority. She looked down at the card so that they wouldn't see her tears. They had all signed it, she could see their now blurry signatures. Even Buffy's Mom. "Thanks." Was all she could manage to say.

It was Xander, of course, that lightened the moment. "Hell's freezing over, the heat wave is over, Cordelia Chase is speechless."

They all laughed, even Cordelia, albeit shakily.

"Time to move this party to the Bronze." Xander said next.

"We'll meet you there." Buffy told them as they left. She turned to Giles. "We need to get that stain out before it sets."

Everyone was gone before Giles had a chance to protest. He looked at Buffy as they got into his car. "That isn't necessary. I'll drop you at the Bronze."

"Do you know how to get chocolate stains out?" Buffy asked.

    "Well, no ..." Giles began.

"If I let you go alone, not only will you not get the stains out, but you won't join us at the Bronze." She gave him a look that said - I know you, don't even try to argue.

     Giles gave in.

Buffy explained what he needed to do to get the stain out. She followed him upstairs to his room and sent him into the adjoining bathroom.

Buffy heard the water shut off and called through the door, "Is it coming out?"

"Yes, I believe so." Giles responded.

She heard the water turn on again and Giles said something that she didn't catch. "What?"  He replied, but she still didn't understand him.

"What?"  She didn't understand him. She rolled her eyes and opened the door.

"Wha ..." Giles stood there in nothing but his boxers and socks.

     "Buffy!" Giles exclaimed.

Buffy could only stare. Giles was ... Impressive. She'd always known that he must be fairly fit, but she never realized ... Now face to face with reality, she was stunned. "You're amazing." Buffy was unaware that she had spoken aloud. Strong legs, broad shoulders, hair on his chest ...

Giles watched Buffy's eyes glide over him, saw as her breathing became shallow and rapid. Her rapt gaze held him captive. "Buffy ..." Her name, was a whisper of a sound.

Buffy raised her wide eyes to his. But, he didn't say anything more, he just looked at her with his eyes so dark and ... She wasn't sure what else. She lowered her eyes, down his chest and stomach, further. Her eyes widened even more when she saw what his boxers couldn't hide. The longer she looked at it, the bigger and more erect it became. "GGiles?"

Giles turned away, mortified. "I'm ... I'm sorry Buffy. I can't help it."

Buffy looked at his back, it was a nice back. And a very nice butt. "I didn't know you felt that way about me." She said hesitantly.

     "What man wouldn't?" Giles returned.

Buffy moved behind him. He jumped when she placed a hand on his back, then he stood motionless. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked softly.

"I didn't think you'd want to know." Giles answered honestly.

"Why wouldn't I?" Buffy asked next. She laid her cheek against his back and wrapped her arms around his waist. She ran her hands up his stomach and to his chest. The hair there tickled her palms.

"Don't tease me Buffy." Giles told her, his voice unsteady.

"I'm not teasing Giles." Buffy placed a kiss between his shoulder blades. "Believe me, I'm not." Her hands slid down again.

The feel of her breath on his skin, her lips. "Buffy!" He groaned as her hands caressed him through his boxers. "What are you doing?" He gasped.

Buffy pushed his shorts down. "I told you before that you were wearing too mant clothes." Her nails lightly raked up his thighs.

Giles groaned again when one of her hands took possession of his throbbing penis. The other hand gently fondled his testicles. His own hands went behind him and her to grasp her butt. He felt her breasts pressed against his back, through her top. "What about you?"

"My hands are full." Buffy breathed against his back. "Maybe you could ..."

Giles moved his hands, he gently removed her hand from his testicles and kissed it. He turned to face her, careful not to dislodge her other hand. He took her face in his hands, raised her face and looked into her eyes. "I love you Buffy."

Buffy closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again, they met his steadily. "I love you too Giles. I was just too afraid ..."

Giles cut her off with a kiss. It was at once tender and passionate. When she opened her mouth, he swept his tongue inside in a blatantly possessive gesture. He untied the strings that held her top together and it fell to the floor. He then moved to the snap of her shorts. Once they were unfastened, he pushed them down her legs, along with her panties.

Buffy kicked them off, along with her sandals. Giles started moving her to the bedroom and the bed. His kissed her hungrily and his hands seemed to be everywhere at once.

Giles gripped the back of her thighs and lifted her legs around his waist. Her wetness rubbed against him and his hips jerked in reaction. With one arm around her tightly, he used the other hand for balance and crawled onto the bed. In the center, he laid them down with her beneath him.

He kissed his way to her ear, he nipped the lobe, then sucked it into his mouth. He kneaded her breast with his hand as he kissed his way to the other breast. He took the nipple into his mouth and grazed it with his teeth before he suckled it quite hard. He grinned wickedly when she moaned. Her legs tightened around his hips. Giles moved his mouth to her other breast as he slid his hand over her stomach and between her legs.

Buffy's hips arched off the bed when he touched her. "Oh God Giles." She nearly screamed, when he slipped a finger inside her, followed quickly by a second. "Please?" She panted as she thrust against his hand. The combined stimulation of his hand and mouth drove her wild. One of her hands clutched the back of his head, holding his mouth to her. The other clutched the bed cover in a death grip. Giles gently bit her nipple at the same time as he rubbed his thumb against her clitoris. She did scream then, "Giles!"

Giles removed his hand and lifted his head to watch her. Her eyes were closed, her lips parted as she gasped for breath, her cheeks were flushed and her face and body were covered in a fine sheen of sweat. He didn't think she'd ever looked more beautiful. He leaned down and kissed her gently. He moved his hips so that his tip just touched her entrance. Then, he couldn't hold back any longer, he deepened the kiss and thrust into her. "Buffy!" He groaned. He'd had his share of fantasies, but nothing could have prepared him for the reality of being inside of her. Hot and wet and so wonderfully tight. He held still, to let her adjust to him, by sheer willpower.

Buffy had seen Giles in the bathroom, had him in her hand and still hadn't registered just how big he was until now. She wasn't sure how it had fit, but it had. Amazingly. She wiggled against him and he began to move. Slowly, at first, then with more force. She raised her hips to meet his thrusts and brought him deeper still. The heels of her feet dug into his thighs and her hands clutched his butt. How could it have taken her three years to notice what a great butt he had?

Giles knew that he wouldn't last much longer, but he wouldn't let himself go without taking Buffy with him. He moved his hand between them and fingered her clit while he continued to pump into her. It was only a minute before her inner muscles tightened around him and she cried out his name again. Giles let himself go then, he thrust hard and fast and he climaxed not ten seconds after she had. "Buffy!" He cried out and collapsed on top of her. After he caught his breath a bit, he rolled so that Buffy was on top of him.

They laid there for a short while and then Buffy giggled. She pulled back and looked at him. "And yet another bonus of chocolate."

"If you expect me to thank Xander ..." His words trailed off as he looked at her. "I just might."

"They'll be wondering where we are." Buffy commented.

"Let them wonder." Giles told her.

She kissed him. "Willow will worry." She kissed him again. "They'll come looking for us."

Giles sighed. "You're right. I suppose we should go."

"Do you have any shorts?" Buffy asked hopefully.

"No." Giles answered. "But I do have some jeans."

At the Bronze, the gang sat around another small table. "You don't think something happened to them do you?" Willow asked worriedly.

Xander and Oz looked at each other then at Willow. "I think they're just fine." Oz told her gently.

"Better than fine, I'm guessin'" Xander said with a laugh.

Cordelia smiled. "Yeah. Did you see the looks they were casting each other? Like it wasn't already hot enough."

"Giles even had his tie off." Oz observed.

Anya giggled. "Did you see his face when Buffy helped clean up the ice cream?"

Xander took mock bows. "Thank you, thank you. A stroke of genius, if I do say so myself."

     "You'd have to." Cordelia commented.

"Hey." Xander said. "It worked, didn't it? We've been waiting for them for almost two hours."

"Oh please, like you had anything to do with it." Cordelia returned. "Those two ..."

"There they are." Willow said and pointed to them and waved. Her mouth dropped open. "Giles is wearing jeans."

     They all turned to look.

     "Wow." Cordelia said.

"I'd say that's all the evidence we need." Xander commented. "That and two very satisfied looks." He put a hand out, palm up on the table.

Buffy and Giles joined them. Buffy looked at them curiously. "What did we miss? Why are you all putting money in Xander's hand?" She and Giles sat down.

"We made a bet that you would finally get Giles out of his tweed." Cordelia said with a grin.

"What?!" Buffy and Giles exclaimed in unison.

Cordelia gave them an impossibly innocent expression. "You know, because of the heat."
