NOTES: Since Gylzgirl asked ...  This is the first fic I've posted to the lists.  It doesn't have all the elements in the challenge - it's just a whimful Quickfic.  Just as a tiny Thank-you to everyone for all the stories through the year.

It was very late on Christmas Eve - so late that even the televised Yule Log was burning low.  Giles and Buffy were sitting on his sofa, both more asleep than awake.  Everyone else had gone home with their presents, promising (or threatening) to come back first thing in the morning for Stockings.

At last Buffy got up from the sofa, picked up her bag, and moved to the door.  Giles followed, to lock the door behind her.  At the open doorway, when she turned to say "good-night", Buffy was suddenly caught by an irrepressible yawn.  As it ended, she found herself smiling up at the decorated ceiling.

Smiling impishly, she rose on tiptoe, pointing silently up to the mistletoe Willow had put there.  Giles returned the smile, and put his lips to hers.

A long time later, when they were both breathless, Giles drew Buffy away from the doorway and closed the door.  He pointed up the stairs to another nosegay of mistletoe that Willow had carefully placed over his bedroom door.  He raised a questioning eyebrow.

When Buffy took his hand, and they began to walk up the stairs, they both could have sworn they heard sleigh bells, and the laughter of a red-haired elf.
